- The Chicago experimentalist will drop Cognition / Observation later this month.
Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe's Cognition / Observation LP will come out on DDS on January 29th.
We last heard from the Chicago-based musician Lowe on We Know Each Other Somehow, a full-length collaboration with Ariel Kalma that came out on RVNG Intl. last year. (2015 also saw him working with the Icelandic composer Jóhann Gunnar Jóhannsson.) The new two-tracker for Demdike Stare Records is the follow-up to his 2012 solo album Timon Irnok Manta. The label says the LP comprises "two long, knotted sequences entangling intricate West African drum patterns and visual motifs in a buoyant, propulsive abstraction of techno and earthed-yet-cosmic electronics."
DDS recently reissued Shinichi Atobe's Ship-Scope, an EP which earned our Recommended designation.
