  • Derrick Carter's seminal 1994 album, Sweetened - No Lemon, will see a re-release on January 22nd. The LP was released under one of the Chicago house's veteran's classic '90s aliases, Sound Patrol, which debuted in 1994 (the same year that Sweetened - No Lemon was released). The alias provided a place for Carter to explore deeper and sometimes more atmospheric styles. The Sound Patrol record originally came out via Chicago's Organico label, while Arts & Labour is handling the reissue. It's a triple-LP affair that adds four new unreleased tracks. Listen to "Tripping Among The Stars (A Necessary Journey)" below. Carter has remained an active presence in dance music since the '90s, sitting as a resident at vaunted club Smart Bar, keeping up a busy touring schedule and running the Classic label with Luke Solomon.
