  • Bushwick venue Market Hotel will re-open to the public on January 22nd. The semi-legal DIY venue was opened in 2007 by Brooklyn nightlife magnate Todd P. It fostered a number of well-established dance parties—including Mister Saturday Night and Aurora Halal's Mutual Dreaming—before closing in 2010 due to pressure from police. This month it will re-open as a legal, renovated venue with a full liquor license in the same location at the corner of Myrtle and Broadway Avenue. While much of their programming consists of indie, punk and garage rock, they've announced a handful of gigs with DJs and live electronics acts in the coming months. The venue's opening celebration on the 22nd will feature Via App, Kill Alters, Dreamcrusher and Malory, plus DJ sets from the Body Actualized crew. Then on January 30th they'll host a Bunker New York party headlined by Silent Servant. Sustain-Release will host a campers' reunion party with a lineup TBA in early April. Tickets to The Bunker at Market Hotel are available here on RA.
