- The first Sides mix comes from FORMA member John Also Bennett.
RVNG Intl.-related store Commend has started an online mix series called Sides.
The NYC label established Commend in late 2015 as "the gravitational center of the RVNG universe." The small store, located in lower Manhattan, sells records, books, incense and clothing and hosts occasional events. Juno Plus says Sides "will see friends and family take up the invitation to travel inside their collections and to the outer realms of music exploration."
John Also Bennett is best known for his part in the Spectrum Spools & The Bunker New York-associated act FORMA. He also plays in Seabat, accompanies Kranky artist Christina Vantzou and works at Commend & RVNG. His largely ambient mix comprises far out, new age synthesizer compositions from Harold Budd and Popol Vuh, among others.
