Kode9 and Dubfire will play the Victorian series of events, while Piknic Sydney has been called off for 2016.
Piknic Électronik Melbourne have revealed ten new international names for their 2016 season.
This will be the second year that the popular Montreal brand will bring the party to the Australian city, with Kode9, Dubfire and The Hacker topping the list of new artists playing at The Paddock at Federation Square this summer. Rone will make his Australian live debut, while Busy P and Boston Bun will host an Ed Banger House Party and Sammy Dee, Secret Cinema and Oliver Schories all appear throughout the season. They join already announced acts Robag Wruhme, Ryan Elliott and Kevin Saunderson, who kicks the series off on January 17th with his son Dantiez.
Meanwhile, the 12-week Sydney Sunday programme, which was due to kick off this weekend with Kevin Saunderson at Sydney Park, has been called off. Organisers issued a statement via Facebook saying: "We are very disappointed to announce that for circumstances beyond our control, we have to cancel the 2016 season of Piknic Electronik Sydney." While 11 of the 12 shows have been refunded, Piknic are "working to keep" the February 7th event with Jeff Mills and Derrick May. A 2017 series is in the works.
