  • Seattle's Elevator are throwing their first Corridor festival on January 23rd. The Elevator crew have been throwing avant-garde-leaning electronic music events around Seattle for the past few years, bringing the likes of Holly Herndon and Laraaji to the West Coast city. They also started a label last year, which so far has just one album, from Bardo:Basho. Corridor is Elevator's biggest event yet, a one-day festival of "sound, light and music" set to go down at the Equinox Studios in Georgetown, from 1 PM until 10 PM. It features two site-specific dance performances from regional choreographers as well as The Esoterics choir. In terms of electronic music, they've brought in Rene Hell for an Elevator repeat appearance, as well as Vancouver's Sarah Davachi, 1080p associate RAMZi, Seattle local and MOTOR signee Black Hat, Portland's DJAO and Further Records co-founder Raica. Organizers say "in harmony with winter enclosure, we will serve warm drinks, small brews and roasted vegetables. Wear layers and dry shoes." Check out a live recording of Raica in Seattle below.
