Mono Junk makes North American debut

- The Finnish producer will play live in Montreal and New York over the New Year's weekend.
- Mono Junk will play his first dates in North America starting in Montreal on New Year's Eve. Kimmo Rapatti is a long-time techno producer, known as the founder of Dum Records, which was one of Finland's defining electronic imprints alongside Sähkö. In terms of his own productions, he's known for a minimal, no-nonsense techno sound, exemplified by his mid-'90s classic "Channel B" (which was just re-released this year). But all this time and he's never brought his live set to North America, which will change on the 31st with a gig in Montreal. Going down at 820plaza, the New Year's Eve event will feature local artists from the Temple and Booma crews, including Solpara, Variant and Adam Feingold. Two nights later, on the 2nd, Rapatti will hit Brooklyn's Good Room, where he joins a hefty cast of techno artists. D'Marc Cantu and JTC will play live together as 2AM/FM, and they'll play solo sets too (the latter under his Charles Manier alias), while Further Reductions will hold it down in the Bad Room.
