  • Elastic Artists officially entered administration this month. In late November, we reported that the agency—which counted the likes of Dixon, Jam City, Alexander Nut and Sam Binga among its roster—was on the verge of entering administration. Artists publicly complained about missing payments, a letter was sent out to clients about "financial difficulties" and many agents had begun leaving the company. Following that news, Elastic's social media accounts, now permanently closed, were hacked by Manchester group Levelz, who staged a hoax kidnapping of the agency's creative director. Now, in a letter to current and former clients, the company has confirmed that it went under administration on December 7th and is currently under the stewardship of two agents. Elastic has asked clients to submit reports of what they are owed, but also warned that "it is unlikely that 100% of the money owed will be received and it is likely that it will take a number of months for artists and promoters to receive such payment," according to FACT. A number of former Elastic Artists employees have joined a new firm called Orchid Artist Management, which was conceived when Elastic Artists started having money troubles this past summer. Orchid currently represents the likes of Mark E, Honey Soundsystem, Bell Towers and Midnight Magic.
