  • Laurel Halo and collaborators will premiere a new project, Still Be Here, at next year's edition of CTM Festival in Berlin. The concept centres on Hatsune Miku, a 16-year-old cyber popstar who's popular in Japan. (Here's a clip of her in action.) Halo and four others—choreographer Darren Johnston, virtual artist LaTurbo Avedon, digital artist Martin Sulzer and conceptual artist Mari Matsutoya, who first conceived of the idea—will perform together in an attempt to examine and deconstruct what it is to be a pop star in the 21st-century, exploring issues of gender, fandom, desire and identity. Halo has composed the soundtrack for the project. Performances of Still Be Here will take place at Haus Der Kulturen Der Welt in Berlin across February 5th and 6th as part of CTM 2016. The team have two more shows lined up for later in the year, one at Donaufestival in Austria, and one at London's Barbican. They join previously announced acts like Lena Willikens, Kassem Mosse, Honey Dijon and Rabih Beaini on the bill for CTM.
