  • Prins Thomas's next album, Principe Del Norte, is an ambient affair. In a letter posted to the label's website, Thomas says the idea of a release for Smalltown originally came about while he was at work on his second LP, 2012's Prins Thomas 2. That one came out on his own label, Full Pupp, but Thomas and Smalltown boss Joakim Haugland would go on to bond over ambient records like KLF's Chill Out, The Orb's Peel Sessions. In the letter, Thomas says "I set off on the task at hand, making an 'ambient' album, leaving conventional drums and drum machines out of the equation. He goes on to say Principe Del Norte was loosely inspired by the 'braindance' movement of the '90s." Thomas then remixed the whole record himself. The functional track titles refer to each of the vinyl version's eight sides. The LP follows Thomas's 57-track Paradise Goulash mix as well as a double EP due out on Full Pupp in January.
