  • Kyle Hall's next album, From Joy is coming out this month. From Joy follows the Detroit artist's first LP, The Boat Party, which landed in spring 2013. In the meantime he's released a handful of 12-inches, mostly for his own Wild Oats label. The new album caps off an especially quiet year for Hall, and it's also the first release of 2015 for Wild Oats. From Joy is a triple LP that collects material recorded before 2010, according to Juno Plus. It was recorded in Hall's father's basement on Joy Road, hence the name of the album. The label also offers this explanation: "The title is derived from the idea of finding a way to live life in a state of presence; detaching oneself from the mental, self imposed narratives echoed by society's traditions and judgements." You can listen to samples over at the Wild Oats website. Tracklist A1 Damn!
