Fatima & The Eglo Band and Afrika Bambaataa have also been billed for the UK festival, happening for the first time next May.
Roy Ayers will headline the first edition of The Funk & Soul Weekender, the new festival from Soundcrash.
The three-day event will take place at Camber Sands Holiday Park in Essex, roughly an hour's drive from London. Soundcrash founding director Rob Waller says the company set up the festival to "in response to a renewed public interest in the funk and soul genres," booking the likes of Ayers, Tony Allen, Quantic (who will play live), Hiatus Kaiyote, Alice Russell, Fatima & The Eglo Band and nine-piece outfit Gentleman's Dub Club. 40 DJs have also been confirmed, among them Mr Scruff, Afrika Bambaataa, Craig Charles, Andrew Ashong and DJ Yoda.
Soundcrash have a handful of other events planned between now and May, including L-Vis 1990's Dance System party at Shapes with Reckonwrong, an New Year's Eve bash at Village Underground featuring Gilles Peterson, Kode9 and Quantic, and Buraka Som Sistema's headline show at Electric Brixton on Saturday, March 5th.
