- An EP from Sergio Dimoff kicks off the NYC promoter's new venture, with releases from Todd Sines, Craig Richards and Convextion in the works.
Blkmarket Membership, one of New York's leading underground house and techno promoters, is about to launch a label.
The brainchild of resident DJs Taimur Agha and Fahad Halder, Blkmarket has thrown countless parties, recently organizing NYC appearances for Sven Weisemann, Dixon and Michael Mayer. As its 10th anniversary draws near, Blkmarket has revealed details for an eponymous in-house label.
Its first release is the two-track Black Cell, the debut EP from Sergio Dimoff, a DJ and producer from New York. That one's due to land on January 18th. Next up on the schedule is a record from another local, Todd Sines, who's been active for well over two decades. Over the years, Sines productions have come out on Planet E, 7th City and Yore.
Taimur & Fahad are also set to release on the label, along with another local techno lifer, Reade Truth. Also in the pipeline are rare efforts from Scumdolly, AKA UK favorite Craig Richards, cult electro and techno artist Convextion and Matthew Burton's dubby soundscape project Derek.
Release dates for all but Dimoff's EP are still TBA. For now, listen to samples from Black Cell below.
