Crown Heights trying to force Time Warp US to change venues

- Crown Heights officials are trying to put a stop to Time Warp US, set to take place November 20th and 21st, or force it to change venues. The popular German techno festival is coming to America for the second year in a row, this time featuring Ricardo Villalobos and Tale Of Us, among others. For its debut year in 2014, organizers ran into venue trouble after losing their permit at The Bronx's Kingbridge Armory. Now they're running into a similar situation as officials from Crown Heights—the Brooklyn neighbourhood home to the Bedford Armory, where Time Warp 2015 is set to go down—are starting a last-minute campaign to shut the festival down. According to DNAinfo, local politicians held a press conference on Thursday complaining that the Department Of Citywide Administrative Services, which granted Time Warp the permit, acted unacceptably by not consulting the community beforehand. Assemblyman Walter Mosley says the festival should find a new venue before next weekend, while councilwoman Laurie Cumbo is quoted as saying she is "unequivocally" against the "rave party" in her neighbourhood. She added that logistic details such as transportation and security had not been discussed with Crown Heights officials. Time Warp has hit back against the criticism, claiming they have met several times with authorities at all levels, from the NYPD to Crown Heights officials. They will use chartered buses to bring attendees to and from the venue, outfit the armory with soundproofing materials and not allow in-and-outs to reduce loitering in the area. (They also emphasized that their fully-legal event should not be called a rave.)
