  • Richie Hawtin and Paxahau are teaming up for a JAK night in Detroit on Saturday, November 28th. The stuff of rave legend, JAK dates back to the mid-'90s, when Hawtin and the likes of John Acquaviva and Derrick May would preside over parties at spaces like the abandoned Packard auto plant. (Acid heads may recall that name, but with a different spelling, thanks to Hawtin's Plastikman track "Pakard.") The last JAK event happened during Movement 2013 at City Club, a venue Hawtin has been playing at for many years, and featured the Minus label boss alongside plenty of affiliates. This time at City Club, Hawtin is alone on the lineup and confirmed for an all-night set. With an ENTER.Sake bar in operation, the party kicks off at 9 PM and admission will be open to those 18 and over. This week saw the third in a series 12-inches on Hawtin's Plus 8 label hit the shelves at Hard Wax. Though all three records have been credited to an unknown artist, it seems likely Hawtin is involved.
