  • Green Velvet and Claude VonStroke will officially launch their Get Real project with a US tour beginning the day after Christmas. VonStroke, an SF resident with roots in Detroit, and Green Velvet (AKA Cajmere), initially played back-to-back sets by chance when ending up on the same bills in Miami, Vegas and Chicago. They quietly headlined a few dates around this time in 2014, but will officially launch the project with the tour in late-December. The press release says the duo looks back to their Midwest roots with the project, positioning Get Real as an "homage to the history of dance music in America." They'll start the trip at Exchange LA on the 26th before hitting Denver's Beta Nightclub. VonStroke and Green Velvet (real name Curtis Alan Jones) will head into the New Year with gigs in their respective hometowns—on the 30th, Get Real plays Detroit's Russell Industrial Center while New Year's Eve has them joining day two of the Reaction NYE event, which features Skrillex on headlining duties. They'll wrap up the introductory tour on January 2nd at a TBA venue in Brooklyn. VonStroke recently spoke to RA's Carlos Hawthorn as part of our RA Exchange podcast series.
