  • Honest Jon's Records has announced details of Christians Catch Hell: Gospel Roots 1976-79, the first in a new series of gospel-themed compilations. The collection plucks 18 tracks from the archive of the Gospel Roots label, an offshoot of Miami's T.K. Records that ran from 1976 until 1980. Due out December 4th, the vinyl edition comes with a booklet that includes artist interviews and photographs. The music has been remastered at Abbey Road Studios. Christians Catch Hell: Gospel Roots 1976-79 follows Honest Jon's' recent Maki Asakawa retrospective. That self-titled compilation was the bluesy Japanese artist's first official release in the English-language marketplace.
