- The French producer's 1978 track "H-Friend" is the subject of three upcoming remix EPs.
Alter-K will release three Black Devil Disco Club remix collections, beginning with H-Friend – Dance Remixes, out November 13th.
Bernard Fèvre's 1970s productions as Black Devil Disco Club have had an unusually long shelf life—Rephlex reissued his 1978 debut, Disco Club, back in 2004, and that one, along with two other LPs from the same era, were made available once again earlier this year. One of Black Devil's most recognizable tracks, "H-Friend," now gets 12 remixes spread across three EPs.
The Dance Remixes include a version by Golf Channel affiliates Africaine 808 as well as UK legend Andrew Weatherall. Weatherall also provides a remix for H-Friend – Vox Remixes, which is due out later in November. That EP also ropes in GoldFFinch and Adelaide-based Luke Million. The final EP, H-Friend – Japan Remixes, gathers remixes from artists Fèvre met on his 2015 tour of Japan, including Free Disco and Oorutaichi.
