  • Tim Hecker will play a show in Vancouver on November 28th. The concert, part of Vancouver New Music's ongoing 2015-2016 season, will showcase the Canadian sound artist's in-progress work. It's the first time this material has been performed in Vancouver. The music reportedly takes influence from Renaissance composer Josquin. Hecker will take the original choral notation and "reimagine [it] with synthesizer, computer and guitar amplifiers utilizing significant sound intensity levels," according to organizers. The show will take place at The Annex on Seymour Street in Downtown Vancouver. Hecker hasn't put out any new material this year, but long-running experimental label Room40 is reissuing two 2007 releases—an EP and a 7-inch— as an LP package next week. Check out a selection from that below.
