- The deep tech producer is the latest to be snatched up by the indie giant.
Hugo Massien will release Kontrol, his first EP for XL Recordings, on Friday, October 30th.
Massien is the latest dance music producer to join the UK indie label, following Paul Woolford last month. XL say it's part of an ongoing effort to "reconnect with the spirit of the label's early days... built around a series of underground, club-focused, outsider rave 12-inches." They say Massien "harnesses that spirit" with the four-track Kontrol, which is roughly in line with the UK's bass-heavy deep tech scene. The vinyl will come on October 30th, while digital and streaming formats will land two weeks later, on November 13th.
Kontrol comes during a particularly busy period for XL—in addition to Woolford's three-EP set, they're also gearing up to release Adele's next album, 25.
