  • Powell sneaks hidden track into 'Insomniac' video image
  • A free Powell track is hidden in the video for his XL Recordings single "Insomniac." The free track, which is titled "Kickin'" and features Russell Haswell, can be downloaded by clicking on the overlay link that appears 46 seconds into the "Insomniac" video. This redirects you to a WeTransfer page where you can grab a mastered .wav version of the track. "Kickin'" has been appearing in Powell's live sets for the past year or so. "Insomniac," which samples Steve Albini's vocals, is the most talked-about tune of Powell's career to date. An email from Albini to Powell, in which Albini stated that he detests "club culture as deeply as I detest anything on earth," was used to promote the single on a billboard in East London. The email was subsequently immortalised in the video for "Insomniac." For more on Powell, read his recent interview with Ryan Keeling. Watch the video for "Insomniac" (and download "Kickin'") below.
