  • Dan Andrei will release an EP with Kozo and Paul Agripa under the name Sahau. The trio's first missive is the two-track Montreal EP. It lands on Zimbru, a new label meant to focus on music that will "cross the boundaries between techno and house." Montreal is testament to that, with a stripped-back sound heavy on synths and broken beats (one of the tracks is even titled "NJ Breaks"). Montreal is a slight departure from the raw, dubby and bass-heavy aesthetic Dan Andrei has spent most of his career working with. Several of his EPs helped define the so-called Romanian sound, making him one of the country's most popular house producers ("Trebuie da, Prima Incercare," the B-side to his 2011 [a:rpia:r] solo outing made it into that year's RA top tracks poll). Kozo is also a key Bucharest figure, running the Understand label and ourown.ro distributor, while Paul Agripa is an up-and-coming producer and DJ making his debut on wax. Montreal is due out on October 30th. In the meantime, listen to samples over at ourown. Tracklist A1 NJ Breaks B1 Montreal Zimbru will release Montreal EP on October 30th, 2015.
