  • J.Sparrow has revealed details of his new Navy Cut label. The Leeds-based artist was formerly known as Jack Sparrow, and was a prominent player in the dubstep-techno crossover in the late 2000s, with records landing on Tectonic and Deep Medi. He went relatively quiet after 2011, coming back earlier this year with the Hold & Pull 12-inch—and now he's striking out on his own with Navy Cut. Though he says the label is mainly for his own productions, it'll launch with a 12-inch from Leo James, AKA Ruckspin, and Quark. "Speak Back," which the label compares to classic Rhythm & Sound, features vocals from Shanee Pink, while guitarist Ed Gooden plays guitar on the flipside. Croatian producer Egoless contributes a remix of "Speak Back" to round off the EP. Tracklist 01. Speak Back 02. Daydream 03. Speak Back (Egoless Remix) Navy Cut will release Speak Back in late November 2015.
