- The Versatile Records founder has recorded an album with Fabrizio Rat and Giani Caserotto.
Versatile Records founder Gilbert Cohen, AKA Gilb'R, is releasing an album from a new project called The Explosion.
The Explosion is a trio featuring Gilb'R (machines, production) alongside Fabrizio Rat (piano, synthesizer) and Giani Caserotto (guitar). Together they've crated a six-track LP, titled The Explosion, that takes its influence from minimalist composers like Terry Riley. It'll see release via Cohen's own label, Versatile. Though an exact date hasn't been set, it'll be available on vinyl, digital and CD formats.
Versatile Records was profiled as part of RA's label of the month series back in 2014—read the article here. This year the imprint has released records from the likes of The Maghreban, Jonathan Fitoussi & Clemens Hourriere, Etienne Jaumet and longtime staple I:Cube.
