- The cosmic-minded Norwegian will release his fourth full-length in October.
Skatebård will release CDIII via Balsa Wood Records on October 23rd.
A native of the Norwegian west coast, Skatebård, AKA Bård Aasen Lødemel, emerged from the early '00s space disco scene which also propelled his fellow countrymen Todd Terje and Lindstrøm to notoriety. Lødemel, however, has had a more varied path. While releasing cosmic club tracks on his own Digitalo Enterprises, the former metal drummer came to regional fame as the sidekick MC in the hip-hop group Side Brok. Throughout it all he stayed rooted on the dance floor, dropping his debut album, Midnight Magic in 2006, and working with labels like Sex Tags Mania and Prins Thomas's Full Pupp over the years. The label says that Skatebård continues his "Scando-cosmic reinterpretation of pure Detroitian house, electro and emotive glacial techno" on this new record.
