  • Berlin-based experimental artist Grischa Lichtenberger is set to return to Raster-Noton for his new album, la demeure; il y a péril en la demeure. This new cycle fixates on the concept of "la demeure"—which the label says translates to "the joy of being withdrawn from economic, temporal or social restraints in the confinement of a home." Its title is actually a reference to two albums. September 25th will see the release of the first CD, focused on "la demeure," as well as three vinyl EPs. Capping off the five-part project is a second CD that will focus on "il y a péril en la demeure." That phrase refers to "a legal term which allows law enforcement to break into [a] private residence because of an imminent danger." la demeure; il y a péril en la demeure will be the fourth full-length to come through Raster-Noton in 2015, following Frank Bretschneider's Sinn+Form, Dasha Rush's Sleepstep and Alva Noto's Xerrox Vol. 3. It counts as the second album for the long-running label from Lichtenberger—a purveyor of glitchy, cerebral electronics—after and IV [inertia], issued three years ago.
