  • UK techno and experimental label Downwards has lined up its next batch of upcoming releases. So far in 2015, Downwards has issued a British Murder Boys compilation, signaling the end of that collaboration between label boss Regis and Surgeon—AKA Karl O'Connor and Anthony Child—and an EP from DVA Damas. (A Regis compilation on Blackest Ever Black was announced last week.) Next up are three releases scheduled to land around September and October. Angel Plague, the 1999 LP from Female (Downwards co-founder Peter Sutton) that also got a repress in 2003, and Guitar Treatments, the 2002 ambient and drone album from Child and Andrew Read that first came through the Kanzleramt sub-label K2 O Records, will each get new life on freshly mastered clear vinyl—it'll be the first release on wax for Guitar Treatments. Downwards has also linked up with industrial metal veteran Justin Broadrick for a release from his longstanding solo alias Final, which predates his work in the influential group Godflesh. Titled Black Dollars, it too will come as a clear, double-vinyl pack. (That's the artwork at right.) A tracklist has yet to be revealed, but it's worth noting that Black Dollars looks to land around when Godflesh will be touring North America with Prurient, AKA Dominick Fernow, whose latest album Frozen Niagara Falls drew high marks in a recent RA review. Downwards will release Angel Plague, Guitar Treatments and Black Dollars sometime in September and October, 2015.
