  • German experimental artist Robert Henke has a new Monolake EP, D E C, due out in August. D E C is the third entry of the five-part V L S I series that Henke is producing as Monolake (the alias home to most of his beat-driven records). The series, coming as usual through Henke's own label Monolake / Imbalance Computer Music, began in December with X I E (the first Monolake release in three years) and continued with I A back in March. Ultimately, material from the five vinyl EPs is set to be edited and re-worked into an album that will arrive sometime in 2016. You can try out samples of the D E C tracks at Henke's website. Aside from the Monolake studio action, Henke has also revealed plans for a newly re-mastered version of 1997's Floating.Point album, the second CD he released under his own name. An ambient-oriented affair, Floating.Point featured contributions from Gerhard Behles, the other initial member of Monolake. (Henke and Behles, alongside Bernd Roggendorf, in 1999 launched the Ableton software company, which Behles still heads as CEO.) No word yet on a release date for that one. Tracklist A1 Dystopia A2 Error B Crash Imbalance Computer Music will release D E C on August 7th, 2015.
