  • Queens venue Trans Pecos will host Silver Apples on Thursday, July 30th. Silver Apples—founded in the 1960s and fronted by Simeon Oliver Coxe III, AKA Simeon—broke new ground with their early combination of rock and experimental synthesizer music. The group's 1968 self-titled album anticipated many of the techniques and aesthetics which would go on to define dance music. Simeon will headline as Silver Apples at Trans Pecos in Ridgewood, Queens next month, with support from the L.I.E.S.-affiliated live act Bookworms and Columbus, Ohio-based performer Giant Claw.
