  • Ariel Kalma and Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe will perform at Artists Space Books and Talks in Manhattan on Saturday, August 8th. Kalma's work in new age and ambient music extends back to the '70s, touching on free jazz and spoken word, as well as experiments with modular synthesizers and drum machines. Lowe is perhaps best known for his solo project Lichens, and frequently collaborates with the San Francisco-based doom metal outfit Om. RVNG label head Matt Werth invited them to record together for the imprint's FRKWYS series, and the result was the We Know Each Other Somehow LP, which emerged in April. The two artists will perform their debut live gig in NYC's Chinatown this August. The gig is being organized by Issue Project Room. Check out a documentary on Kalma below.
