  • Demdike Stare's DDS label has just released a Shackleton dubplate dating from 2005. The Shackleton track is one of the UK producer's earlier efforts, going back to the initial days of the Skull Disco label, and it was once a well-rinsed dubplate in sets from his dubstep pioneering peers. Retailer Boomkat says the tune marks "a pliable point of transition between dancehall, techno and bassbin purgatory." The 12-inch, which is called Archive Series: #1 (perhaps hinting at more vault-digging to come), comes packaged with a new mixtape from Demdike Stare themselves, which features tracks old and new that have inspired and informed their DDS label. The special bundle (which also comes with a tote bag) follows previous cassette releases from the duo as well as Micachu and Shinichi Atobe's The Butterfly Effect last year. DDS released Archive Series: #1 on May 28th, 2015.
