Hyperdub will release an EP of archival material from the late DJ Rashad next month.
The Chicago artist and footwork innovator tragically passed away last April at age 34. Since then, Rashad's legacy has lived on through a raft of tribute compilations, mixes and concerts—last month, Machinedrum self-released the Movin' Forward EP, made in collaboration with the late producer, while last November saw Hyperdub and Teklife issue the Next Life compilation. Now, Kode9's label has gathered four previously unreleased productions from Rashad, featuring appearances from close affiliates DJ Spinn, DJ Manny, Gant-Man and Taso. All proceeds from the 6613 EP will go to Rashad's family.
