The Martinez Brothers headline Ceremony Festival 2015

How has Ceremony developed since last year? What changes have you made? Ceremony 2015 presents an even more explicit cross section of genres, presented in bigger arenas with some of our most exciting headliners of the year. This year's stages are programmed by true underground heroes who share our love of grassroots sounds—DJ Sneak's I'm a House Gangster, Santé & Sidney Charles' Avotre, JME's Tropical, Scott Garcia's Heritage and the London night reviving the capital's love of classic hip-hop, So Fresh So Clean. On the main stage, The Martinez Brothers play a London festival exclusive and we've managed to convince Armand Van Helden to perform a classic '90s set. He'll goes back to his roots and revisit some of those incredible early productions, many of which were released under aliases at the time, and all of which would become hugely inspiring to the many house producers who followed. Found are running five festivals in London this summer, each with its own musical concept and identity. What is Ceremony's? Ceremony is a 360° degree celebration of dance music, past, present and future. It's about saluting the sounds that have shaped British underground club culture over the years, focusing on the music and the scenes that Londoners have cut their teeth to in the clubs. In that sense you'll see strands from all of the other four festivals in the Found season represented here. It's very much a dance floor driven and party-led conclusion to the season that amalgamates the highlights from our more specialised lineups, for London's last festival of the summer. Why are Found running five festivals? What's the thinking behind the approach? We started as a series three years ago, running 15 consecutive club shows in some underground arches in Vauxhall. The Found brand was always destined to be a curator of sounds, creating events that pay homage to the melting pot of genres that British nightlife is built on. In that sense, the first series saw us combine house and techno with their bass-led counterparts, with the likes of garage, grime and an array of experimental artists on the periphery of them all. Now a series of festivals, we've been able to return to that original ethos and present five special London events, each of which is able to delve deeper into the roots of a particular scene or sound. Born & Bred is about underground London and the music forged in the big smoke. Found continues to look to the cutting edge of house and techno from across Europe. 51st State celebrates the roots of classic house, where it all started. And United boldly nods to 25 incredible years of rave culture. Ceremony amalgamates them all and closes the season with a festival that talks to everyone with a love of underground club culture.
