  • A new full-length from German producers Tobias Freund and Max Loderbauer's NSI. project has just dropped. A.R.T. is the first full release from NSI.—which stands for Non Standard Institute, and is also sometimes referred to as nsi.—since their 2010 album Sync, which was issued on Freund's Non Standard Productions imprint. In the interim, the duo were recruited for appearances on Stroboscopic Artefacts, Ostgut Ton and Scissor & Thread. The new LP marks their debut on No., the experimental label run by Atom TM and Material Object, and it's described as a "true genre tourist." Like most other music on No., A.R.T. looks to be a digital-only release, for now at least. It's a good time to be a fan of any of the parties involved with this one. Plans have just been revealed for an upcoming album from Loderbauer and Ricardo Villalobos on Perlon, and over the past couple months, Loderbauer's group ambiq has seen their self-titled 2014 LP reissued and remixed by both Freund (as Tobias.) and Villalobos. Villalobos also processed the recent collaborative EP Ridges from Loderbauer and Jacek Sienkiewicz (which also features an "accidental bassline" from Freund). On the No. front, a mix CD from Atom TM and Material Object, celebrating the label's first year of operation, will come out in late May. For more on Loderbauer, have a look at this RA feature from last month. Tracklist 01. A.R.T. I 02. A.R.T. II 03. A.R.T. III 04. A.R.T. IV 05. A.R.T. V 06. A.R.T. VI 07. A.R.T. VII 08. A.R.T. VIII 09.
