London producer and DJ Chris Pell is known for a distinctly English hybrid style that touches on grime, R&B and the Caribbean rhythms of soca and dancehall. He's dropped singles and EPs on much-loved UK labels like Glacial Sound, Unknown To The Unknown and most recently, the Brooklyn-based Mixpak, who released his Jasmine two-tracker in February. You can stream it below.
Pell will head out on his inaugural tour of North America on April 30th, starting with a show at Washington DC's Tropicalia party before dates in Montreal and New York, where he'll play with Sinjin Hawke and Zora Jones at the Tribeca Grand Hotel. Next is a string of West Coast stops that will take him through Vancouver, Portland, LA San Francisco and Seattle, leading up to two Texas gigs in Austin and Dallas. He'll play Boston's Good Life on the 22nd before swinging back for a second New York appearance, followed by a stop in Puerto Rico on the 29th and Baltimore on the 30th.
