  • Fort Romeau will headline the first edition of the new Sanctuary One party on May 22nd. London resident Mike Greene first emerged with Kingdoms, a 2012 full-length for LA-based 100% Silk. The former La Roux keyboardist has since taken his smooth house sound to Ghostly International, who issued Insides earlier this year. RA's Andrew Ryce said the record's space disco and kosmische-inspired tracks are replete with "catchy hooks and synths like satin sheets," in his review. Sanctuary One will be Greene's only West Coast stop on a trip to the states for Movement. Sanctuary One party tips its hat to legendary dance floors of the past, referring to Ron Hardy's seminal DJ sets and Arthur Russell's downtown sound as formative influences. Two of the night's organizers, Tres Dubois and Ray Barragan, are on warm-up duties. Fittingly, Sanctuary One takes place at new Hollywood club Golden Box, self-described as "a grungy disco inspired by downtown NYC in the '80s."
