  • Débruit is starting his own label, ICI, with an album due out on June 15th. Outside The Line is French artist Xavier Thomas's first solo LP in three years, following 2012's From The Horizon and Aljawal الجوال, his 2013 collaboration with Sudanese artist Alsarah. Débruit's work has long centered around African themes and ideas, typically mixing those sounds with contemporary dance music styles, and Outside The Line is no different. This time "African coldwave" is the idea, inspired by "the coast of an imaginary land where ancient West Africa cohabits with '80s New York," according to the press release. The LP also marks the start of Thomas's own label, ICI. Before this, most of his music came through UK imprint Civil Music. Listen to "Separated Together" below.
