  • Pop-Kultur, a new three-day event inspired by pop-up culture, will be held at Berghain from August 26th through 28th. The inaugural Pop-Kultur is being organised by Musicboard Berlin, a government-funded organisation that aims to strengthen the German capital's music industry. Along with a sizable concert programme, Pop-Kultur will host an array of academic workshops, with Daniel Miller, Tracey Thorn and Matthew Herbert among the artists booked in for talks and lectures. The action will go down across a large chunk of Berghain's grounds, utilising Panorama Bar, Halle am Berghain (pictured), the Schlackehalle, plus Berghain Kantine and the cloakroom. A few dozen artists have been locked in for performances. These include live sets from Inga Copeland and Matthew Herbert & Band, plus The Juan Maclean, Pantha Du Prince and Lapalux. Will Bankhead, Daniel Miller and Matthew Herbert will also DJ. Keep an eye on Pop-Kultur's official website in the coming months for the final schedule.
