  • Amir Alexander will release his first LP, Love And Fear, via Anunnaki Cartel in May. Though his DJ career stretches back to the '90s, Alexander emerged from a hermetic studio period in the late '00s, dropping a spate of 12-inches for labels like Finale Sessions, Argot and his own Vanguard Sound. For his debut album, Alexander looks back on a life in dance music. "By using classic Chicago, Detroit and New York as a reference, I sought to explore new sonic possibilities while limiting myself to the classic machines and sounds of the era that inspired me to dedicate my life to this art form," he says. In doing so, the busy artist says he created "music for travel. For dance. For contemplation. In a club among hundreds, or at home in bed." Alexander runs Anunnaki Cartel along with Chris Mitchell, and together they've put out their own music along with records by close peers Joey Anderson, Dakini9 and Traxx. You can check out clips of the new LP over at distributor and label Subwax BCN's site. Tracklist A1 Tight Situations! A2 A Virtuous Woman! B1 Moist Flesh! B2 Nordisk Saga! C1 Love & Fear!
