  • Omar Souleyman's next album is called Bahdeni Nami and it's coming out on July 27th via Modeselektor's Monkeytown Records. The album has been produced by Modeselektor, Gilles Peterson and Four Tet, who produced Souleyman's 2013 album Wenu Wenu. The album's title track has been remixed by Legowelt and Black Lips's Cole Alexander has also turned in a remix that'll see release on 7-inch vinyl in August. Bahdeni Nami, which was recorded in Istanbul, also features contributions from poet Ahmad Alsamer, saxophonist Khaled Youssef and keyboardist Rizan Said. "They say that we play at an awful lot of parties," say Modeselektor. "Omar Souleyman has sung at a very, very large number of parties. Wedding parties. We reckon that fits! The coolest man on the planet tossed the wedding bouquet our way and we had no choice but to catch it. Welcome to the Monkeytown family."
