  • Lux Rec's new MRT division will release Benedikt Frey's MRT001 on May 11th. The Zurich-based Lux Rec got its start in 2010 and has been building steam with records they describe as "acid fueled stompers, creepy low-fi numbers, melodies of pain and sorrow, noisy, analog pieces." MRT001 comes from rising Love Pain Sunshine & Rain label boss Benedikt Frey, who's turned in an acidic three-tracker to kick off the new label. MRT002 consists of recordings sourced from two rare cassettes recorded in 1990. Tuning Circuits is an alias of René Bakker, a Tholen, Holland-based producer who originally released No Compassion and 30 Minutes Of My Life, A Trip Through The Audio Spectrum, in limited editions via Totally Freaked Out Power Electronics. The tapes, which comes with liner notes encouraging the listener to "play this analog dancecore very loud," have been praised by producers like Beau Wanzer and Basic House. Cuts from both releases have made it to MRT002. Check out samples from both releases below.
