  • Satoshi Tomiie has outlined details of his second album, New Day, which lands on May 18th via AbstractArchitecture. Tomiie remains best known for "Tears," his 1989 collaboration with Frankie Knuckles, though he also played keyboard for Ryuichi Sakamoto in the early '90s and has released plenty of singles and remixes. New Day is his second album, arriving 16 years after his debut full-length. It's said to be the culmination of styles he's explored throughout his career, from house to jazz to classical. It'll arrive in four different formats—CD, vinyl, digital and cassette—and features a collaboration with John Schmersal, a member of Caribou's touring band. There will be some vinyl samplers for the album featuring remixes by Ron Trent, Fred P, Chez Damier, Brawther, Maayan Nidam and DJ Sneak. Tomiie also has a world tour in the pipeline, though details are still TBA. Listen to album cut "Thursday, 2AM" below.
