  • Function has mixed Berghain 07, due out May 18th on Ostgut Ton. Dave Sumner's selection is the second Berghain/Panorama Bar mix in the series' post-CD era. Last year's Panorama Bar 06 by Ryan Elliott (RA's favourite mix of 2014) did away with the CD format in favour of a free, fully mastered .WAV download that was supplemented by two 12-inches of exclusive tracks from the mix. Sumner, who first played Berghain in 2008 and released his debut album on Ostgut Ton in 2013, recorded the mix using an unreleased Rane MP2015 rotary mixer. He says he gleaned inspiration from his monthly residency at Berghain, making reference to his extended closing set in February 2015. Though the full tracklist for Berghain 07 hasn't been revealed, Ostgut Ton have announced details of the two supporting 12-inches. They contain new cuts from DVS1, Steve Bicknell, Blue Hour, Luke Slater (as L.B. Dub Corp), Cassegrain & Tin Man and Inland (AKA Ed Davenport), all of which appear on the mix. Sumner says the mix also provides some insight into the future plans of his relaunched Infrastructure New York label. The two Berghain 07 12-inches will be available for purchase on May 18th, the same day the mix comes out. Tracklist Part 1: A1 Steve Bicknell - Odyssey #1 A2 Post Scriptum - Human Timescales B1 L.B.
