  • Dominick Fernow's first album as Prurient since 2013 will hit on May 18th. Frozen Niagara Falls is the follow-up to Through The Window, which came out via Blackest Ever Black. It marks Fernow's return to his noise-centric primary alias after continued excursions into techno as Vatican Shadow, among many other projects (including another LP for Blackest Ever Black, this time as Exploring Jezebel). This latest Prurient record has Fernow moving over to Profound Lore, an independent Canadian metal label that has become a staple source for experimentally-inclined heavy music. They first teased the album back in January with a short video trailer and now full details of the record have come to light. It's a hefty affair, spreading sixteen tracks over two discs and 90 minutes. The label describes it as Fernow's "magnum opus" made of "harsh feedback, tortured vocals, meticulous sampling, machine-like industrial pounding, entrancing synth work, enticing beats and waves of electronica." You can watch the trailer below.
