  • Honey Soundsystem has teamed up with Red Bull Music Academy to present a lineup celebrating the evolution of the queer dance floor this Wednesday, March 11th. The event will take place at The EndUp, an afterhours spot that's achieved informal landmark status in the city's gay community. One of the oldest bars in the SoMA district, The EndUp sprang to life in 1973. A stalwart during the city's disco era as well as the AIDS crisis of the '80s, the club was reinvented as a house and techno hotspot in the '90s and '00s. The Honey Soundsystem crew, known for their raucous Sunday night affairs, have assembled a lineup of California veterans to mark the occasion. Doc Martin first fell in love with dance music in San Francisco in the mid '80s. He'd go on to throw raves and run the Sublevel label out of LA, but he's remained a regular at The EndUp over the years. He'll headline tomorrow along with SF house veteran David Harness. Steve Fabus and the Honey Soundsystem DJs, including Jackie House, Jason Kendig and Josh Cheon, will round out the affair. The event is being held in conjunction with RBMA Radio's San Francisco residency. Tickets to Honey Soundsystem presents The EndUp are available on RA.
