  • Karen Gwyer will perform live at The Apiary on Friday, March 6th. The East London venue has been supporting experimental music via its Apiary Sessions events since 2009. This weekend's party is in collaboration with Sonica, a festival run by the team behind MoTa (Museum of Transitory Art in Ljubljana, Slovenia.) In addition to Gwyer, Planet Mu's Leafcutter John and multi-disciplinarian Marco Donnarumma will play live, while Plaid's Andy Turner, Spatial and Gon get behind the decks. There will also be visual installations from Dental Metal, AKA Martin Bricelj Baraga & Spatial, and Slovenia's Vesna Krebs, who will present her video-mixing project Phenakistomixer 2.0. Doors will run from 8 PM through 3 AM. Sonica Festival is part of SHAPE, an initiative that reunites 16 European non-profit organisations active within the ICAS—International Cities Of Advanced Sound. More than 50 artists are involved in the scheme, including Marco Donnarumma, DJ Nigga Fox and Lorenzo Senni. SHAPE launched at CTM Festival in Berlin in January.
