  • Matthew Herbert has announced details of a new album called The Shakes, coming soon on Caroline International. The LP is being touted as a follow-up to Herbert's 2006 album for !K7, Scale, making it is his first dance music album in nine years. Caroline International's Michael Roe says: "We are over the moon to be working with such an incredibly unique talent as Matthew. He embodies the true sense of the word artist and has produced a body of music that has not been off the hi-fi at Caroline since we got it." Herbert will perform at a one-off show at Village Underground in London on March 17th. He'll be performing music from The Shakes with a cast of collaborators, including Ade Omotayo and Rahel Debebe-Dessalegne. The show has been planned with playwright Duncan Macmillan and a press release says it'll "premiere a new technique for sourcing sounds from the audience."
