  • Róisín Murphy Murphy has recorded a single for Crosstown Rebels called Jealousy. The single will not appear on her forthcoming album, which she announced recently via Twitter. "Although my album is a rather eclectic affair, this release for Crosstown is one for the purists. I have a deep love for house and disco so this 12-inch is strictly for dancing to," says Murphy. The title track, which appears in two versions—a "House mix" and a "Disco mix"—has been co-written and produced by DJ Parrot, who featured prominently in Matt Anniss's recent feature on the history of bleep. "Parrot understands dancing music and he understands me," Murphy says. "This is fast and furious; he says it's roller-disco music. The backing track sounded so frantic, so evocative, the lyric wasn't long coming to me. All I had to do was try to create a vocal as demented as the music." The record was mixed by Eric Kupper, a one-time production partner of Frankie Knuckles and Dave Morales. Tracklist 01. Jealousy (House mix) 02. Jealousy (Disco mix) Crosstown Rebels will release Jealousy on March 16th, 2015.
