  • Dirk Ivens' pioneering Belgian synth group Absolute Body Control will play an exclusive US gig at Complex on Saturday. Ivens formed ABC in 1980. Though the unit released just one seven-inch and a number of cassettes during its brief existence, their Suicide and DAF-informed sound would prove an enduring minimal synth archetype. In years since, Absolute Body Control has been the subject of several reissues, most notably an exhaustive 2007 set from Vinyl-on-demand which compiled the group's early '80s cassette releases on five LPs. Ivens and original member Eric Van Wonterghem would reform the project in 2006. In LA, they'll be backed by Chondritic Sound duo Pure Ground and a DJ set from Silent Servant. The night is presented by the long-running industrial party Das Bunker and M/R/X.
