  • Detroit's Interdimensional Transmissions crew will host an event on Saturday, March 7th, to mark the launch of the new IT sublabel Eye Teeth. The night at Tangent Gallery will feature two longtime DJs and underground favorites who'll both be involved with Eye Teeth: Karl Meier and Israel Vines. Though currently residing in Chicago and LA, respectively, the two go way back, as Vines replaced Meier at Chicago's Gramaphone record shop in 1997 (but only after Meier administered a sort of "techno quiz" to check his knowledge). As we announced a few weeks ago, Vines is behind Eye Teeth's first release, an EP called WWKD, as well as the second. On that one (which remains untitled for now) he'll contribute one original track, with BMG and Silent Servant having already been revealed as remixers. Now Talker, the duo of Meier and Jon 'Stave' Krohn, have been confirmed to complete that record with a "Talker WWKAJD Remix." BMG will take care of local support at the release party, and as usual for an IT-related event, it'll have audiophile sound as well as art installations from Amber Gillen, who's preparing an Eye Teeth-focused theme. Interested attendees will also be able to secure a copy of WWKD.
